AdamsWells Internet Setup Sheet

WINDOWS 98 / Me

 

Follow these simple instructions to setup your computer to access AdamsWells Internet.  If you have any questions regarding this setup, please contact us at (260) 565-3131 or (800) 917-7731 for support.

1.                   Click Start > Programs > Accessories > Communications > “Internet Connection Wizard”

NOTE:  The “Internet Connection Wizard” may also be located in Accessories > Internet Tools or, in
             Programs > Internet Explorer (folder).

 

2.                   When the “Internet Connection Wizard” window appears, select the “I want to set up my Internet connection manually…” option, then click Next.

 

3.                   Select the “I connect through a phone line…or Internet Service Provider” option, then click Next.

 

4.                   Type in one of the following telephone numbers in the Phone Number box:

565-1234                 Bluffton, Ossian, Uniondale, Craigville, Preble, Tocsin
353-1234                 Markle, Poneto/Petroleum, Keystone
824-6530                 Liberty Center
692-6203                 Berne, Decatur, Pleasant Mills, Monroe
589-2751                 Linn Grove, Geneva
469-6060                 Fort Wayne, Zanesville

*AdamsWells Internet is NOT Responsible for charges incurred from the use of incorrect dialup number.

5.                   Uncheck the “Dial using the area code and country code” option (if shown), then click Next.

 

6.                   Type your “User name” and “Password” in the boxes, then click Next.

 

7.                   If an Advanced Settings window appears, select No, then click Next.

 

8.                   Type “AdamsWells” in the Connection Name box, then click Next.

 

9.                   Click “Yes” to setup the Internet mail account, then click Next.

 

10.               Type your name (as you would like it to appear) in the Display Name box, then click Next.

 

11.               Type your email address (your user name@adamswells.com), then click Next.

 

12.               Your incoming mail server is a “POP3” server.

 

13.               Type the following address in the Incoming mail and Outgoing mail boxes, then click Next:

 Incoming Mail Server:                       pop.adamswells.com
Outgoing Mail Server:                        smtp.adamswells.com

14.               Type your “Account name” (if not already entered) and your “Password”, then click Next.

15.               You can skip the “Internet Directory Service” or “News” setup.

 

16.               Click Finish.

The following directions will set your home page to AdamsWells.com (optional):

 

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools > Internet Options
3. Type the following in the “Address” box under the “Home Page” setting:  http://www.adamswells.com
4. Click the OK button.
5. Restart Internet Explorer.
